Get the facts on Small Fleet Trucking

Sagamore's Small Fleet Trucking program offers many benefits to both the agent and the customer. From the way we bill to how we pay commission, we've structured this program so everyone receives the most benefit from having a Sagamore policy. Here are some facts you might not know about this program:

Sagamore pays commission up front

When you write or renew a Small Fleet Trucking account with us, you receive all of your commission up front. We bill you on an account-current basis and you retain your full commission out of the initial payment collected from the customer. Paying commission this way can help add cash flow to the agency, encourage more production from your producers and improve the accuracy of your accounting.

If changes are made during the policy term that affect the premium, you will see the difference on your monthly account statement. The difference will be in the form of a check, credit for additional commission earned or a bill for commission to be returned.

Cargo coverage is provided for reefer breakdown

Our cargo form includes reefer breakdown when the refrigerated unit on a trailer malfunctions or is the cause of a loss. This coverage is typically purchased as a separate endorsement on many policies but with Sagamore, it is included in the cargo form.

Trailer interchange coverage is available through Sagamore

Trailer interchange coverage includes liability for damage to a trailer that the insured does not own. A written trailer interchange agreement must exist between the insured and the owner of the trailer. Premium for this coverage is charged per unit but only for the percentage of mileage the insured uses that trailer.

Small Fleet Trucking billing is continuous

While many companies require a substantial down payment at the start of each policy term, Sagamore customers have the benefit of a continuous bill policy. Our customers pay a one-time security deposit at the start of the policy and receive continuous bills as long as the policy remains in force. The deposit will be adjusted at renewal and throughout the year due to premium changes. This type of billing increases the customer's cash flow and provides for a more consistent experience.
